People | Paper Challenge

Hey Ladies and welcome to our third monthly lens — people. With this lens, I wanted us to take a look at the people around us, and see how they play a role in our own stories.

Enter our Monthly Lens themes. Each month, we’ll take a look at a new theme (Collective VIPs are emailed a copy of the Lens micro-magazine on the 1st with an advance copy of all the challenges + bonus content) and use that theme to take a look at the world around us.

Challenges are published here on the blog for all ALP Collective members on Friday mornings. There will be a photo challenge, a paper challenge, a memorabilia challenge, and a feminist quote challenge. This does not mean you should be doing four projects a month. Use these challenges as motivation and inspiration. Not to add to your creative to-do pile.

To succeed at this paper challenge — play with paper. Go through your sheets of patterned paper, flip through your scrap box, print out some digital designs. If you choose to play with these papers and use that to complete a scrapbook page, later on, that’s awesome. If not, that’s awesome too. Just being aware of, and playing with, the things that you have, and the things that you love, will make you a better creative.

These paper challenges are designed to get you playing with paper. Just as the photo challenges are designed to get you taking photos and the memorabilia challenges are designed to get you working with the bits and pieces of your life.

Play with mixing different patterned papers. Pull together patterns that feel cohesive.

You can choose to incorporate these papers into a project immediately, or pull them aside for a later date.

Share your challenge projects with us! Upload your photos/projects to your ALP gallery and drop a link in the comments below.
