August’s ALP Challenge: REFLECTION

This month, we’re turning the lens inward—literally and figuratively.

The challenge: Make a page about your reflection—what you see and what it says about you.

Look for yourself in mirrors, windows, puddles, or even a shiny doorknob. Snap a selfie. Use it as a starting point. This isn’t just about how you look—it’s about how you see yourself.

Where do you catch glimpses of yourself?
What do those reflections reveal?
What are you showing—and what are you hiding?

This is your invitation to get your face in the frame and tell the story behind the reflection.

Not sure where to start? Try:

  • Mirror selfie
  • Reflections in windows or water
  • A foggy bathroom mirror moment
  • A shadow or blurry glimpse
  • That one photo where you almost recognize yourself
  • A found reflection in a totally unexpected place

How to Participate

  1. Take the challenge. Make a page about your reflection—in whatever format feels right. Daily Pages, scrapbook layout, digital spread, journal entry, collage—whatever gets the story down.
  2. Share it in the forum. Head over to the August Challenge thread, where our Creative Team has already shared some powerful inspiration.
  3. Upload a photo of your page. We want to see what you made! Add a note if you’d like to tell us more about the reflection or your creative process.

We’ll be talking about this prompt all month long—and we’d love to see how you capture yourself this time.

Let’s hold up the mirror and tell the story we find there.
