Hello everybody! Nicole here with my very first layout! I love the Outdoor prompts for this month. For this layout, I decided to scrapbook a layout of what it looks like in my neighborhood. I must say, I feel lucky to live somewhere close to the woods and the beach all within a few blocks from my house.

My neighborhood friends make fun of me because they rarely see me down at the beach. Honestly, I hate sand… It’s a major turn off for me. LOL However, my son LOVES the beach and the only time I can get some quiet time to read is when I take him to the beach. So, it’s a win-win for the both of us.

For this layout, I used Pink Paislee’s Summer Lights collection. Love the colors and chipboard shapes in this collection! I felt this collection would be perfect for scrapbooking my neighborhood.

Initially, I was going to use two photos. One of the beach chair and the other one of the water. But then I thought, I better include a photo of myself in this layout since this layout is about how I feel lucky to live near the beach.

The sea shell embellishments and die cut frame is my absolute favorite. It really helps bring this “beach” layout alive.

I love the chipboard pieces from Pink Paislee’s Summer Lights collection. They are so shiny and pretty! 🙂 Perfect for a girl who likes pretty things.

I just couldn’t stop layering them together. The more, the merrier. Also, I love hand-journaling my own stories onto my layouts because it makes the layout more real. The only time you’ll see my journaling typed is when there’s simply too much to write or if I am creating a mixed media layout. The ink from the pens do not show up really well on misted layouts.
