Maternity Leave: What to Expect (Starting Feb 20)

I’m going on maternity leave starting February 20–and I’m really excited (and also very aware that I’m about to meet the tiniest boss I’ve ever had).
My due date is March 5, and I’ll be fully off March, April, May, and June. For the first few weeks I’ll be doing exactly zero work while I heal and we figure out life as a family of three. After that, I’ll get to the computer once or twice a week to tackle support tickets as I can.
Here’s what this means for you–the practical version.
What’s still happening while I’m out
A bunch of stuff will keep rolling along, because this community is sturdy and full of capable humans.
- Daily Pages Live is still happening. I won’t be there, I won’t be recording, and there won’t be Substack daily emails during leave–but Carol Anne and the longtime Daily Pages crew will be running the sessions. You’ll still get a monthly email reminder at the beginning of each month with the link (plus a quick reminder of these leave updates).
- ALP Book Club is still happening, with live sessions on the last Saturday of each month.
- The website and community are still here, and new classes will premiere while I’m gone. You’ll hear about anything new through email, like usual.
What’s changing
You’ll still have plenty to make with–I’m just not going to be the person actively driving the bus for a while.
- Everything during my leave is self-paced
- You’ll see fewer emails from me
- I’m not answering DMs
- I’ll be much slower on email and support, especially early on
- The shop is closed to physical orders until at least the fall
Where to look while I’m gone
If you’re ever wondering “what’s happening right now?” start here:
- Check the Activity Feed for what’s going on inside the community
- Check your email–anything new (like class premieres) will still be sent that way
Need help?
Support tickets are the way to go–always, but especially during leave.
Submit a ticket here: https://theawesomeladiesproject.com/support/
If something is urgent, please put URGENT in the subject of your support ticket and include: your account email, what you tried, and a screenshot. Urgent usually means you can’t access something you’ve paid for.
A July thing to look forward to
I’m planning a light return in July, and a more full schedule around mid-September. And yes, I know that’s a long time–but it’s also the real plan, and I want you to know what to expect.
One fun thing to put on your radar: we’re planning Awesome Ladies Live here in East Lansing in July–tentatively the weekend of July 25. We’re firming up a few details and getting the last contracts signed, so more info will be coming out in the next few weeks.
Personal updates (if you want them)

If you’d like occasional “how it’s going over here” posts, you can follow my family blog: https://myfamilystuff.substack.com/
That’s where I’ll be sharing little updates–mostly from my phone–because let’s be honest, my big girl computer is not going to be my best friend for a while.
So excited for you, Kristin! I hope all goes well with delivery and I’m wishing you joy as you get to know your new baby girl. <3
