We use black & White photos when:
- We don't love the lighting
- We want our stories to be simpler
- We want to change the colors in the photo
- We want to give our photo/story a certain mood
- We want our photo story to look nostalgic

Some recommendations for black and white photos
- Shoot in color first and then change the picture to black and white.
- Try out different types of black and white filters on your photo, you might like some better than others.
- Emphasize the contrast; the black is never going to be too black, leaving the white to stand out.
- Lines (both horizontal and vertical) can shine through especially well in black and white photography.
- Look for patterns; cool patterns can emerge when you look at the world in black and white.
