We take selfie photos when:
- We want to get in front of the camera
- We want a visual representation of our body (or a part)
- We want an image of what we look like at any given point in time
- We want to document our life in an image
- We want to share something about our self within a photograph

Some recommendations for selfie photos
- Practice. Try different angles. Try the front facing camera, a mirror, pictures of your shoes.
- Natural indirect light is your friend. Get outside or near a window.
- Emphasize the contrast; the black is never going to be too black, leaving the white to stand out.
- Take a bunch of pictures. See which ones you like and you don't. Delete the ones you don't like.
- Use filters to help make your photo feel more fun.
- Join a challenge like Thursday3 to help keep you accountable
- This is a skill and it takes practice. Start with things that make you comfortable; if you like taking photos outside, start outside. If you love taking photos in your kitchen, try a kitchen selfie. If you really like putting on makeup, do a selfie after you've put on your makeup. If you want to have other people in your selfie -- grab them and take a photo too!
